REPORT:Match Flag Workshop08 Cambodia (Nov.16)
Location : AEON MALL Phnom Penh
Today, we came to AEON MALL Phnom Penh for our second workshop in Cambodia.
Upon request at the last minute from the Football Federation of Cambodia, we decided to have an event collaborating with the Cambodia National Football Team.
We started to set up at 8 am in the morning. It was a big venue, so our Project Director, Mr. Hibino, designed the layout the day before, and we began to set up based on his design. All equipment we borrowed from the facility was very heavy, but with the help from many staff of AEON MALL, we finished setting up just before noon.
We started our workshop at 14:30 in order to be ready for welcoming the Cambodia National Team.
The Team was scheduled to show up at 15:00 but they came on stage at 14:45. We haven’t yet discussed on how we will proceed with the event but people started to crowd at the venue and we had no choice but to start the collaboration event… How would we do this???
Mr. Hibino was called to be on the stage and he explained about our Project.
A few players were supposed to participate in our workshop, but all the players took brushes and started coloring the flags. It was an amazing experience, to see not only some players but everyone from the National Team participate. It was the moment where we felt the Match Flag is playing a role in cultural exchange.
After the National Team left, we still had many people who joined our workshop. It was impressive to see everybody working on the flag very seriously and staying at the workshop for a very long time.
At the end, the venue was filled with colorful Match Flags.
Many things went on since 8 o’clock in the morning and it was a very long day. However, it was a day we never forget.
Thank you for the Cambodia National Team and all the people who helped us there.
