REPORT : MATCH FLAG WORKSHOP 10 in Fukuoka CANAL CITY HAKATA( Feb.20 )
Date : Feb. 20,2016
Location : (Fukuoka)CANAL CITY HAKATA ‘B1F Star Court’
The Match Flag Workshop was held in CANAL CITY HAKATA , a place where many people from around the world, especially from Asian countries, come and visit.
This time, we made the match flags for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (JAPAN vs. Afghanistan /JAPAN vs. Syria) coming up in March. Also, we made the match flags for Avispa Fukuoka and other J1 League(*) clubs to celebrate the start of the football season in Japan. (*Japan Professional Football League) Many people enjoyed both types (ASIA DAIHYO and J1 League) of flags.
It rained all day, but fortunately many people came. A lady from Kanazawa City (Ishikawa prefecture) came to join us, who bought her ticket to Hakata soon after she found about the workshop on Facebook. Some children were with their family but were so much into drawing that they forgot about the time.
A group of Korean boys, who were visiting Hakata, also joined the workshop. They enjoyed drawing and putting colors on the flags with us. Alike football, I believe match flags go beyond linguistic barriers and can make people around the world get together.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the workshop.
